Welcome to our newest RMT,

Rio Carson:

We’ll now have RMT treatments available on Saturdays (along with early morning and evening appointments) to better accommodate your schedule!

Born and raised in the Okanagan, Rio left to pursue her love of massage therapy in Vancouver, B.C. While in Vancouver, Rio worked with a wide range of patients from different organizations including UBC Varsity Athletics, BC Women's and Children’s (pre/postnatal and labour), Canuck Place, GF Strong Hospital, the MS Society and lululemon Seawheeze. These experiences solidified Rio’s passion for both sports rehabilitation and pre/postnatal massage.

Rio’s passion for sports and rehabilitation has its origins in her own 16 year history of competitive figure skating and dance, as well as in her active lifestyle. At the same time, the past six years spent nursing at Kelowna General Hospital as both a surgical and medical nurse have enhanced her knowledge of post-surgical recovery. Rio brings this knowledge to all of her RMT patients, providing them with a thorough treatment plan to better assist their recovery.

She is looking forward to bringing her unique qualifications to the Pro Motion Team and is even more excited about working with her patients, enhancing their ability to enjoy their lifestyle in optimal health.

Welcome Dr. Emily!

Dr. Emily Freistatter was born and raised in Ontario but has always had a passion for the mountains. She spent summers in the Rockies and knew when the time was right she would find her way back west to live permanently. She is excited to have landed in Kelowna and to discover the Okanagan.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences at Queen’s University, she moved to Toronto to study at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where she graduated with a Doctor of Naturopathy.

Her journey to naturopathic medicine started with her own health concerns. She took to nutrition and cooking as a way to heal her own body. It was then that she knew this was the type of medicine she wanted to practice.

She believes finding health should not be complicated.

With a focus on preventative and individualized medicine, Dr. Emily will design a personalized health plan for you that will identify and treat the root cause of your ailments. Her goal is to teach you to optimize your diet and lifestyle so that you can take control of your health and your life.

You will experience an integration of clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, physical medicine & lifestyle counselling. This allows for a whole-body, individualized approach to health. Techniques will be personally selected to best suit your case as individualized medicine is key to promote wellness. These techniques will empower you to take control of your health and your life.

When she is not in the office you will find her soaking up the great outdoors, photographing whatever catches her eye, and creating whole food recipes.

Dr. Emily will be taking bookings as of June 20.
