Physiotherapy Kelowna | IMS Dry Needling & Injury Rehab Experts

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a comprehensive, hands-on approach to diagnosing and treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or looking to enhance athletic performance, physiotherapy helps restore strength, balance, and mobility.

At Pro Motion Clinic in Kelowna, our registered physiotherapists use a combination of manual therapy, corrective exercise, and modern techniques like IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) dry needling to treat the root cause of dysfunction—not just the symptoms.

Our clients include athletes, weekend warriors, office workers, and individuals recovering from surgery or motor vehicle accidents. We also work with ICBC claims and most extended health insurance providers.

What to Expect During Your First Physiotherapy Appointment

Your first visit will begin with a detailed consultation and movement-based assessment. We want to understand not just where you’re experiencing pain, but why. Your physiotherapist will evaluate:

  • Joint range of motion

  • Muscle strength and flexibility

  • Nerve tension and postural habits

  • Functional movements

  • Orthopaedic special tests

From there, we create a customized treatment plan designed to help you return to pain-free movement and prevent future issues.

Treatment May Include:

Manual Therapy

  • Joint mobilizations

  • Soft tissue release

  • Neural mobilizations

IMS Dry Needling (Intramuscular Stimulation)

  • A targeted technique using fine needles to release tight, overactive muscles

  • Especially effective for chronic pain, nerve irritation, and stubborn injuries

Corrective Exercise Programs

  • Personalized home programs tailored to your lifestyle

  • Exercises delivered via app or print-out with clear instructions and videos

Patient Education

  • Post-surgical recovery protocols

  • Advice on posture, body mechanics, sleep, and more

  • Return-to-sport and injury prevention strategies

What Should I Wear or Bring?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows us to assess and treat the affected area. If you haven’t completed your online intake form, please bring:

  • Medication list

  • Insurance or claim info (policy numbers, adjusters, injury date)

  • Any surgical reports or diagnostic imaging

Is Physiotherapy Covered by Insurance?
